Lehigh To Host Army West Point On Team IMPACT Day

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh men's basketball will be hosting Team IMPACT Day on Wednesday night as the team welcomes Army West Point to Stabler Arena. Team IMPACT is an organization that pairs children with serious illnesses to college sports teams. Several matches from Lehigh and around the area, including the team's own match Joey, will be in attendance.

The Black Knights (6-17, 2-8 PL) hold the advantage in the all-time series 69-48 over the Mountain Hawks (7-14, 4-6 PL) with the first game dating back to the 1906-07 season. The matchup has been evenly contested in recent years, as Lehigh is 5-5 in its last ten matchups against Army West Point. The Black Knights swept the Mountain Hawks in their two games last season, picking up an 80-78 win at home while also winning 71-69 in Bethlehem.

If Lehigh wins, they will pick up their third consecutive victory at Stabler Arena. In addition, they would snap a two-game Black Knight winning streak.

Lehigh last competed on Saturday on the road against Boston University, falling by a slim 72-71 margin. The Mountain Hawks led through the first half of play, but a second half that saw the Terriers shoot 80% from three helped them crawl back into contention. Lehigh shot 50% from the floor, which was only the fourth time this season. Four Mountain Hawks hit double-figures in the loss, those being Tyler Whitney-Sidney (18p), Burke Chebuhar (11p), Joshua Ingram (11p) and Dominic Parolin (10p). The team was still without two of their regular starters on Saturday, as both Keith Higgins Jr. and Jalin Sinclair did not take the court against the Terriers.

Army West Point enters Wednesday's matchup in last place in the Patriot League standings and riding a three-game losing streak. The Black Knights gave second-place Lafayette everything they could handle in their last time out, but ultimately fell 64-56 in overtime on Saturday. Army West Point's leading scorers are both first-year student-athletes, those being Josh Scovens and Ryan Curry. The pair has combined to win seven Patriot League Rookie of the Week awards this season, and Scovens earned the league's Player of the Week on 12/18. Scovens averages 12.5 points per game while Curry is posting 9.7 points per game.

Wednesday's game will be aired on ESPN+ and can be listened to on Fox Sports Radio 94.7 FM and 1230 AM.
