RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond women's swimming and diving team is excited to announce the signing of Team IMPACT Hero
Lily Cason-Stokes Friday.
In the fall the Spiders welcomed Lily to their squad after being matched through Team IMPACT. Lily, from Richmond, is a five-year-old with a rare genetic disorder called CHAMP1. More information about CHAMP1 can be found at:
www.champ1foundation.org/. When she's not in the pool, Lily loves riding her scooter, listening to music and dancing, as well as video calling with friends and family. Lily's favorite meal is chicken nuggets and French fries.
Team IMPACT has created relationships that have enhanced the lives of thousands of courageous children and touched the lives of tens of thousands of student athletes across the country. The team behind Team IMPACT is honored and inspired to continue to expand the long-standing tradition of athletes contributing to something far greater than themselves. The student athletes in the program extend their commitment to their team, to each other, to provide sick children in their local community a profound sense of belonging, by demonstrating their steadfast support for each and every member of the team through adversity both on and off the field.
Her new teammates are excited to have Lily be a member of the team and share what being a Spider is all about.
