BIDDEFORD (WGME) - On the ice, the University of New England’s women's hockey team is a tight knit group; off the ice, they're fighting for those with intellectual disabilities.

A bill in Maine’s legislature is proposing to create a grant program that would increase college opportunities for the differently abled and members of the team are speaking up about its importance.
