Women's Lacrosse Signs Danoff Sisters Through Team Impact

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Devon Wills, The Carole Kleinfelder Head Coach for Harvard Women's Lacrosse, announced two new team members today as 5-year-old Tilly and 9-year-old Josephine Danoff will join the program through Team IMPACT.

Tilly and her sister Josephine were officially introduced at a signing day press conference this morning (Jan. 27) in the Dillon Lounge on campus. They will participate in many team activities such as games, practices, and other important team events.

Team IMPACT, a national non-profit organization, has developed a unique multiyear program that matches children facing serious illness and disability with college athletic teams across the country. Based on a clinical model, Team IMPACT guides a symbiotic relationship between teams and children focused on socialization, empowerment, and resilience.

"Team IMPACT is excited to see Tilly and Josephine officially join the Crimson," said Emma Simches, Regional Director of Programs, Northeast at Team IMPACT. "We are proud to work alongside Harvard University, their athletic department, and coaching staff to create lifelong bonds and life-changing outcomes between student-athletes and their Team IMPACT teammates."

Harvard has worked with Team IMPACT for 13 years, matching children with multiple programs such as men's and women's soccer, men's and women's lacrosse, men's and women's ice hockey, field hockey, football, wrestling, women's water polo, and women's swimming.

"We are delighted to announce our collaboration with Team IMPACT, an incredible organization dedicated to making a positive impact through sports," Head Coach Devon Wills said on Saturday. "The addition of Tilly and Josephine to our team brings a wealth of enthusiasm, laughter, and gratitude. We are thrilled to work alongside them, and together, we look forward to achieving great success and making a meaningful difference in our journey together.

Junior Grace Taylor also spoke on the newest members of the program.

"We are so excited to have Tilly and Josephine as teammates! They bring such a positive infectious energy and already embody all that it means to be a Harvard women's lacrosse player," Taylor added.  "Tilly is so resilient, kind, confident, and fun! She inspires us to bring hard work and gratitude to the field every day and we are so lucky to have her and her sister on our team!"
