Volleyball Inks Ariyana Alamo Through Team IMPACT

Blue Demons welcome Hammond, Ind. native battling Acute lymphocytic leukemia

CHICAGO – The DePaul volleyball team is excited to announce the program has signed Ariyana Alamo in partnership with Team IMPACT.
 
"DePaul Volleyball is all about fight, resiliency and pursuit of excellence. Nobody embodies those qualities more than Ariyana" DePaul Head Coach Marie Zidek said. "We are thrilled to add such a tremendously passionate young individual to our squad! We can't wait to get her here and involved with our program."
 
Ariyana, an 11-year-old from Hammond, Ind., is currently battling Acute lymphocytic leukemia after being diagnosed in 2019. Off the court, Ariyana enjoys running, photography, creating art and spending time with her 1-year-old brother.
 
At a virtual signing day with her family, new teammates, coaches, and DePaul administrators, Ariyana officially signed her national letter of intent (NLI) to join the Blue Demon squad. As a member of the program, Ariyana will attend DePaul practices, games and other team events.
 
Founded in 2011, Team IMPACT has matched more than 2,100 children with 700+ colleges and universities in 49 states, impacting more than 60,000 student athletes.
 
Team IMPACT has more than 1,200 teams across the country waiting to be matched with children, ages 5-16, who have been diagnosed with a life-threatening or chronic illness and who could benefit from becoming a member of the team.
