Team Impact Announces Collaboration With “The Equity Collective” To Provide Professional Opportunities To Collegiate Student-Athletes Nationwide

BOSTON, MA — Team IMPACT announced today its collaboration with The Equity Collective, an initiative led by Morgan Stanley to educate, empower, and develop the next generation of diverse leaders in the financial services industry. Consisting of a group of industry-leading wealth management and asset management businesses, The Equity Collective has established key partnerships with Team IMPACT, HIVE Diversity , and Boys & Girls Club of America to generate a spark of interest in finance in young people.

In working with virtual recruiting platform HIVE Diversity, members will engage with next-generation talent representing an ever-evolving range of diverse backgrounds and experiences. HIVE focuses on internship and entry-level placement opportunities, as well as building earlier and more equitable pipelines through virtual programming to expose all candidates to careers that exist within the industry. The collaboration with Team IMPACT will focus on working to support college athletes in their career readiness as they grow into civic-minded, empathetic leaders through their experiences mentoring and supporting children living with a serious illness or disability. As part of this collaboration, Team IMPACT will utilize its strength in working with over 750 colleges and universities to facilitate relationships between The Equity Collective and a diverse community of 65,000+ student-athletes across the country with the goal of providing professional development and internship opportunities within the financial services industry to fit their demanding schedules.

“We are honored to be part of The Equity Collective and play a role in changing the landscape of the financial services community while giving our college athletes the opportunity for career exploration, professional development, and job placement within the financial arena,” said Seth Rosenzweig, CEO of Team IMPACT. “This initiative is focused on change so that everyone wins, and we look forward to playing our part to make an IMPACT.”

Team IMPACT’s campus partners value and understand the life lessons and perspective their student-athletes gain from being matched with a child through the organization’s two-year therapeutic program. “Earlier this year, Boston College proudly became an official partner of Team IMPACT with the focus on our mutual core values and mission: promoting empathy, resilience, camaraderie, and excellence, while providing a student-athlete development experience focused on the whole person,” said Jade Morris, Senior Associate Director of Student-Athlete Development at Boston College. “We are excited to participate in this new initiative with Team IMPACT and The Equity Collective to provide unique and meaningful professional development opportunities for our student-athletes and shed a light on the financial services industry.”

Research conducted via Morgan Stanley’s Investor Pulse Poll found that among diverse groups of high-net-worth investors and entrepreneurs, finance repeatedly took the top spot as the industry that could most impact racial inequality. “By banding together, we can be a force multiplier to impact our industry in a meaningful way,” says Andy Saperstein, Co-President of Morgan Stanley and Head of Morgan Stanley Wealth Management. “The Equity Collective is committed to investing early in under-represented communities, focusing our efforts on increasing the pool of interested and qualified people that consider a career in financial services.”

With a focus on creating awareness and demystifying financial service career opportunities to break barriers for future motivated leaders, The Equity Collective will also dedicate resources to Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s CareerLaunch, a job-readiness and career launch program with the ability to reach 4.6 million young people between the ages of 13 and 18 years.

The Equity Collective is composed of 26 industry-leading businesses: American Century, BlackRock, BNY Mellon Investment Management, Columbia Threadneedle, Diffractive Managers Group, DWS, First Eagle Investment Management, Franklin Templeton, FS Investments, Goldman Sachs Asset Management, Hartford Funds, Invesco, Janus Henderson Investors, John Hancock Investment Management, Lazard Asset Management, Macquarie Asset Management, Morgan Stanley Investment Management, Natixis Investment Management, New York Life Investments, Nuveen, PGIM Investments, PIMCO, Putnam Investments, Touchstone Investments/Fort Washington Investment Advisors, T.
