Teammate of the Year

Meet our Teammates of the year

We received incredible nominations from dozens of kids around the country. The submissions were funny, creative, and heartwarming, truly showing the special friendships that happen at Team IMPACT.

We are proud to announce our five finalists for this year’s Teammate of the Year:

Congratulations to our finalists, and thank you to all our incredible kids who submitted nominations. Now it’s time to vote for the winner! Now until Thursday, May 4, watch the submission videos from our five finalists, read their quotes, look at their photos, and vote on who you think deserves to win Teammate of the Year.

The winner and a guest—as well as their nominating teammate and a guest—will receive a trip to Boston for Team IMPACT’s annual Game Day Gala on June 1, 2023. Good luck!

Creed & Anthony, Duke Football

CreedAnthony4

Anthony has exceeded all of our expectations. He makes Creed feel like he is genuinely part of the Duke Football team. We could not have asked for a better experience or teammate for Creed.

Emma & Avery, Wisconsin Basketball

Avery has opened doors for Emma that we didn’t realize could be opened. She helped Emma develop and share empathy and team spirit through her heart, love, and determination, on and off the court. Avery’s caring nature and team spirit have shown Emma what it means to play fair and fierce, and her kindness off the court has made Emma feel loved and supported. Emma knows she will always have a friend in Avery.

Lillian & Jada, East Stroudsburg Softball

Jada instantly connected with not only Lillian but with our entire family. Jada is more than a student-athlete—she is an empathetic, compassionate young leader on and off the field, and I’m proud to say our girls are happily following in her footsteps. She goes out of her way, on her own time, to make sure Lillian and Julia are having the best Team IMPACT experience they can and have truly changed their lives in the process.

Mia & Hailey, UT San Antonio Basketball

Hailey’s devotion to our family and love for Mia slowly brought Mia out of her shell. Mia is not the super shy girl she was when they first met. Mia battled cancer with her grandfather. They were diagnosed just two weeks apart. When Hailey found out Mia’s grandfather had passed, she asked to come over and see Mia. She helped her smile again. Cancer isolated us for a long time. Hailey reminds Mia that life is still good. Hailey shines with confidence, and Mia is slowly becoming a reflection of that positive attitude.

RJ & Tre, Case Western Baseball

Tre graduates in May of 2023 and then will begin medical school this summer. He has plans to become a pediatrician so he can continue making a difference in the lives of children. What we appreciate most about Tre is the patience and positive demeanor he has with RJ. With all the puzzle pieces, Tre creates time to make RJ a priority. But what’s most impressive are Tre’s unspoken attributes. He’s present in the moment with RJ. He exudes positive energy and purposefully makes sure their engagements are fun. Tre has exemplary leadership skills and admirable dedication to support children. He and RJ will always keep their special bond, and he encourages RJ to pursue medicine one day as well. Tre has made a tremendous impact on RJ’s life.
