Boston College Hosts Northeast Field Day

On the first warm Sunday of spring this past weekend, over 300 people in the Team IMPACT community came together at Alumni Stadium at Boston College. This first annual field day brought together Team IMPACT children and their families, over 100 student-athletes and coaches, donors and friends of the organization for a fun-filled afternoon. From face paint and bounce houses, to slushies and photo ops with Baldwin the Eagle, children and their teammates had two hours of non-stop fun.

To help kickoff the event, Boston College Athletic Director Blake James commended the tremendous support for not just participation in the afternoon but their ongoing effort and commitment to their Team IMAPCT matches and families. CEO of Team IMPACT Seth Rosenzweig followed James’ comments with his own remarks, reminding attendees that the work to get all kids in the game is “just getting started.”

“You will be a part of how we get there,” he reminded the student-athletes across BC’s hockey, football, soccer, lacrosse and other teams. “I’d like to thank Blake James, Mike Winn, our fellows, [and] every administrator and student-athlete at Boston College, that won’t today’s events stop here, but will take this mission, wear it on their sleeve, take personal responsibility, and ensure that no child is sidelined by sickness.”

Team IMPACT Fellows Annabelle Hasselbeck (Women’s Lacrosse), Jessica Kelly, and Sarah Flynn (Women’s Cross Country) led the organization of this special afternoon for current Team IMPACT families matched with BC as well as families matched with other local campuses including Harvard, Boston University, Tufts University, and Endicott College.

At Team IMPACT, we are extremely grateful of our tremendous partnership with Boston College. To date, we have matched 23 amount of children at BC across its men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s soccer, baseball, women’s lacrosse, football, swimming and diving, men’s and women’s hockey, cheerleading, women’s volleyball, and women’s track teams.
