Friendship Series: Never a Dull Moment — Cory and Sarah, Bentley Swim & Dive

Like many friendships, the ones formed at Team IMPACT often begin with a shared interest that blossoms into a deeper connection. For Cory and Sarah, their friendship began in the fall of 2024 when Cory joined the Bentley swim and dive team, but it didn’t take long for that connection to grow beyond the pool deck into a friendship of inclusion, encouragement, and showing up for each other through it all—a friendship that Cory deems worthy of Teammate of the Year.

For Cory, Sarah is much more than a teammate—she’s a best friend.  “Sarah always includes me,” Cory shared in his nomination. “She came to visit me and cheered me up when I broke my arm. She takes me swimming and helps me cheer for the team. She takes me to special events. I love her so much! The best friend ever!”

Sarah’s positivity, dedication, and “overall awesomeness” have helped Cory find his way seamlessly within the Bentley athletics community. Whether they’re cheering on the Falcons together, spending time at team events, or simply making each other laugh, Sarah makes sure Cory always feels included and valued. For Sarah, having Cory on the team means endless laughs, constant support, and never a dull moment. For Cory, having Sarah in his corner means having someone who celebrates the fun moments and shows up during the hard ones, too.

At Team IMPACT, we know friendship can be transformative. Cory and Sarah remind us that being a teammate means more than showing up to practice, it means showing up for each other always.
