Friendship Series: Teammates, Friends, and Cat Moms — Jayci and Addie, Stanford Swim & Dive

From the moment they met on the Stanford swim and dive team, 12-year-old Jayci and her teammate Addie Sauickie formed a connection that felt natural and easy. So when it came time to think about her Teammate of the Year, Jayci was honored to nominate “one of my closest friends of the Stanford women’s swimming and diving team, Addie.”

Jayci and Addie’s friendship is built on the little moments that matter most, from conversations, laughter, and bonding over their pet cats. Whether they’re spending time together at the pool or chatting about Milo and Lucy, their friendship has become something truly meaningful. “She is still one of the easiest people to talk to,” Jayci said. “We’re cat lovers and cat moms of Milo and Lucy. I love hanging out with her and playing with Milo, who is one of the prettiest, fluffiest, and most beautiful cats I have ever seen.”

For Jayci’s mom, Brittany, watching her daughter’s friendship with Addie grow has been nothing short of amazing. “It’s been so sweet watching Jayci and Addie connect and become friends,” Brittany shared. “They really clicked right away.”

For Jayci, Addie’s kindness and friendship made her an easy choice for this year’s nomination. “I love Addie,” she said, “and that is the reason I’m nominating Addie for best Teammate of the Year.”
