Boston, MA (January 8, 2025)Team IMPACT, a nonprofit that matches children facing serious illness and disability with college sports teams, hosted its second annual Beanpot Ping Pong Tournament on Wednesday, January 8, at the DICK’S House of Sport. Sponsored by DICK’S Sporting Goods and honeygrow and with more than 100 hockey student-athletes representing Boston University, Boston College, Northeastern University, and Harvard University, this event highlights the Beanpot schools’ shared support of Team IMPACT across the city of Boston.

“The Beanpot is an incredible tradition here in Boston carried out by some of the city’s most notable collegiate athletes,” said Joe Daniels, CEO, Team IMPACT. “We are so proud to have these athletes participating in our program and their relationships with their matched teammates exemplify the pillars of Team IMPACT and what we aim to achieve. This Beanpot ping-pong tournament allows for us to come together for a fun night to celebrate their impact and showcase the power of team”

“We are incredibly proud of our partnership with Team IMPACT,” said Justin Rosenberg, Founder and CEO, honeygrow. “It is an honor to play a small part in how Team IMPACT and these remarkable student-athletes are lifting up their matches today and year-round.”

All four Beanpot campuses proudly participate in Team IMPACT. Though rivals on the ice at next month’s Beanpot hockey tournament, the ping pong tournament unites all four schools in their support of the Team IMPACT teammates matched with the men’s and women’s teams at Boston University, Boston College, and Harvard University and the men’s hockey team at Northeastern. All seven matched Team IMPACT teammates participated in the ping pong tournament, cheering on their teams. Next month, TD Garden will be hosting all Team IMPACT children matched to Beanpot hockey teams at the annual Beanpot Tournament.
