For the third consecutive year, Team IMPACT collaborated with the Philadelphia-based Vincera Foundation at the Vincera Children’s Classic golf tournament, with all proceeds from the tournament supporting the Vincera Foundation, Team IMPACT, and (Be)Philly Foundation. More than 150 golfers, Team IMPACT program participants, and supporters—including Philadelphia’s favorite Eagle, Jason Kelce—gathered at the Philadelphia Country Club in Gladwyne, PA, to golf, eat, drink, and hear how the Vincera Foundation continues to support Team IMPACT’s life-changing work across the city of Philadelphia and beyond.
This event brought together the local Team IMPACT, Vincera Institute, and Philadelphia sports communities for a day of fun, golf, cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and community that kicked off with an introduction from Vincera Institute, Team IMPACT, Jason Kelce, and renowned sports radio announcer Merrill Reese, and concluded with an awards dinner honoring the work each organization does within the Philadelphia community. Kelce, who has long worked with the Vincera Foundation and Dr. William C. Meyers, attended the event supporting Team IMPACT for the second year in a row. Before golfers teed off, the Vincera Foundation presented him with a custom saxophone celebrating his recent retirement, commemorating his impressive career with the Philadelphia Eagles, and honoring his dedication to the Philly community.
Team IMPACT staff, alongside local families and student-athletes representing LaSalle, Swarthmore, Temple, and Villanova, came together to showcase the power of team and community that come with participation in Team IMPACT. Ciarlo, matched with LaSalle men’s basketball; siblings Demetrius and London, matched with Swarthmore men’s lacrosse and women’s basketball; Gideon, matched with Villanova men’s lacrosse; and Jordan, matched with Temple football, posed for photos with the VIP attendees and gifted Jason Kelce with a framed collage of Team IMPACT participants who noted him as their role model and favorite athlete.
“We’re so grateful for our continued work with the Vincera Foundation and to be beneficiaries of the Children’s Classic golf tournament again this year,” said Josh Walker, Team IMPACT Executive Director for the Mid-Atlantic region. “Each year, we look forward to this golf tournament as a chance to bring our community together to highlight and celebrate the incredible work of Team IMPACT, Vincera, and (Be)Philly across the city of Philadelphia and beyond. And a special thanks to Jason for making this day feel so special for all our kids and families!”
This collaboration began in 2022, when the Vincera Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Vincera Institute, selected Team IMPACT as a beneficiary of their annual golf tournament. Each year since, the two organizations have worked together to engage with their local communities, enhancing health, fitness, and positive development and furthering Team IMPACT’s life-changing work in the Philadelphia area with a goal of getting all kids in the game. “The Vincera Foundation and Team IMPACT match in their goals, developing kids the right way,” said Dr. Bill Meyers, President of the Vincera Foundation, “and our pro athletes love all that we are doing. Sports is not just sports. It represents all aspects of life.”
