Team IMPACT’s unique multiyear program matches children facing serious illness and disability with college athletic teams across the country. Our mission is to guide children and teams alike in a mutually beneficial relationship of belonging, empowerment, and resilience.
For a healthy child, there are a number of systems through their family, school, or larger community where they are able to find support and socialization. For children living with a serious illness or disability, these systems can be strained. Team IMPACT provides a safe, supportive, and encouraging environment for a child and their family to connect with a college athletic team and local campus community.
Long term involvement in Team IMPACT is related to improvement in emotional resilience, which can influence overall quality of life for children with illness and disability.
The results we see in children and student-athletes alike aren’t by accident or luck. Dedicated staff at Team IMPACT work to ensure both the family and team are ready for this experience, considering physical, social, and emotional factors to determine the best match.
Team IMPACT has more than 15 clinically trained staff members who guide our program and all those in it. From the very first call with Team IMPACT to match up, throughout the two years in the program and beyond, we ensure all participants are in good hands.
Student-athletes are true stewards of the Team IMPACT program thanks to our student-athlete development team.
From leading with empathy to building resilience for both children and student-athletes alike, Team IMPACT empowers participants to forge deep relationships that go beyond the court.
Our vision is to create a world where every child facing serious illness and disability feels supported by something bigger and every team is transformed by a greater purpose. When we’re all in together, we all win together.
