This partnership represents Children’s National’s commitment to amplifying the therapeutic and community-building benefits of sport through Team IMPACT’s unique program. By formalizing and deepening the existing relationship between the two organizations, this collaboration seeks to enrich the pediatric healthcare offerings at Children’s National, while also fostering inclusivity, resilience, and leadership in young patients. Together, Children’s National and Team IMPACT are committed to helping children feel empowered and supported, both within the hospital and beyond.
Through advocacy, awareness, and program referrals, we believe that we can create a positive change in the lives of all children living with serious illness or disability.
Long term involvement in Team IMPACT is related to improvement in emotional resilience, which can influence overall quality of life for children with illness and disability. Children’s Hospital Association and their hospitals, like Children’s National, are committed to ensuring the patients at their member hospitals are supported socially and emotionally.
On January 23, 2025, nine-year-old Dapheria celebrated her Signing Day with the Georgetown women’s soccer team at Children’s National Hospital in Washington, D.C. Though Signing Days are always special, Dapheria’s was extra unique in that it marked the first ever Team IMPACT Signing Day to take place at a hospital.
Dapheria was able to share in the magic of the moment, not only with her Georgetown women’s soccer teammates and family but also with all her friends, doctors, and nurses at CNH. Seacrest Studios broadcast the event hospital-wide, starting with Dapheria and her teammates hosting Bingo and ending with Dapheria signing on the dotted line and committing to the Hoyas.
Help support our mission and make sure every child benefits from the power of team.
